Day 30: Home

It's about time and I can't wait to feel the familiar comfort of home. Time to rest and recharge for the week to come.

Day 29: Oh Yum

I love KFC's Creamy Tomato Pasta Bowl.

Day 28: Memory Box

Whenever I can, I make it a point to buy supplies for my scrapbooking. It really takes me a lot of time to make one that's why I opt to buy first. I just never noticed that I already had too much. These are only few of the stuff I bought last year. I never really had the chance to get into it. There's just too many pictures to choose from.

Day 27: Good Morning Thursday

I woke up early. I went out to enjoy the quiet morning breeze. It's very unusual for me to wake up this time of day, since I my work starts at 10:30am.

Day 26: To Buy or Not To Buy

Again, I was at the bookstore. Browsing. Should I? Or should I not? Tempting.

Day 25: Pizza Night

There are some days when we crave for something to eat. I was craving for pizza. It seemed that my sister was able to psyche what I want and voila! She brought home pizza, as well as onion rings and fries.

Day 24: Trinket Treat

My sister just came from Boracay from a conference. I asked her to buy some trinkets for me to give to some of my friends. These remind me of how much I want to go back to the island to unwind, relax, and treat myself.

Day 23: Purchased

This is the first book I've purchased for this year. Not the type of book I usually buy, though. I just saw this near the counter of a bookstore and made me think of getting ideas to organize portions of the house as well as my room. I'm not an organized person. In fact, I'm the opposite. I can't manage to keep my things in order for a long time though I really  try. It was just so hard! I hope this book will make me see things in a different light and somehow motivates me to really put some of the ideas here into action.

Day 22: Mark It

I was at the bookstore and saw this. I love bookmarks. I wish I have one for every book I have, though I buy one whenever I feel like it. Just like today.

Day 21: Reduce Reuse Recycle

Reduce earth's destruction. That statement got my attention when I bought NBS's red bag. I applaud those companies that choose to lessen the use of plastic. Me, I choose to support it. We should all do our part to save Mother Earth anyway we can. Start NOW.

Day 20: Blue and Gold

"The blue and gold of Miriam (this is me singing)..." oh I miss my college days. I miss walking in the lanai, people watching, hanging out in the locker room or library. Miriam College used to be my second home and I just loved it more especially in the mornings when I take a leisurely walk in the covered shed and smelled the freshly cut grass. It's been ages last I've been there and I wish to go back one of these days.

Day 19: Reminiscing

I was using this book as a reference for my tutorial class. I was browsing through it while JM, my student, was answering some grammar exercises. Then I came across this page. I used to insert fresh flowers on the pages of our books when I was young-er, much to the chagrin of my mom. My mom grew orchids before and I snipped one or two every time they bloomed. For me, it was such a waste seeing those flowers wilt on their own. I made sure I was able to preserve them.

Day 18: Dinner Served

I love eating out with friends. A couple of officemates and I decided to have dinner since we have no class the next day. The restaurant was just beside our building and I could already hear the protests of my tummy, demanding to be filled with good food. I had a good conversation with them eventhough most of them were still about work. It was a good way to let out our grievances and take it all out on our dinner.

Day 17: Breakfast

I never skip breakfast whenever I go to work. I make it a point to eat a lot during breakfast because I don't do snacks when working. I just can't manage to grab a cracker especially during late afternoons when my students start to arrive by bulk. Today I decided to go without rice for a change and opted for peanut butter sandwich, coffee and banana.

Day 16: Sunday Workday

Sunday is still work day for me. Moonlighting as a tutor during weekends, I get to meet my students. The one who lives on this street is my newest.

Day 15: Raise Your Glass You'all

I got home at around 9pm already. It was raining and I had no umbrella so I had to run, as if I could get away from the rain. An hour after, I was already sneezing and had watery eyes. I just had to nurse myself if I still want to get up the next day. Good thing there were meds and Pink's Raise Your Glass to help me get through the night.

Day 14: Havin' A Break

It's Friday. Everybody, including me, should be ecstatic because the weekend's finally over. BUT NO. I have work Saturday morning, which is ok. What I hate the most is that Friday is the busiest day for me. I still have to rush some things for work the next day. Well enough of that, at least I have chocolates to beat my blues.

Day 13: Meet Gitzy

My newly-wed friends dropped this adorable teddy to work, a thank you gift for attending their wedding. Ain't Gitzy sweet? I wonder if she's looking for her groom. :)

Day 12: Drink your Milk

I hate milk. I do. In fact, I never drink it because it gets my tummy upset all the time. But lately, my lower back started to ache maybe due to the cold temperature in the center or by bending a little bit to assist my students. I guess it's better to take the stuff rather than suffer osteoporosis (haha) when the time comes.

Day 11: Recharge

Nothing beats a bottle of H20 to quench my thirst. Yes, water. I'd choose water over iced tea or any carbonated drink.

Day 10: Save Save Save

This is my sister's piggy bank. It's just that it's so adorable and I know I have to take a picture of this. This made me think of the value of thriftiness. I know I have been spending on things that are not necessary. Today I will try to think twice or even thrice before I buy something.

Day 9: One Gloomy Afternoon

It's a lazy afternoon. The sun's hiding somewhere. Gray clouds everywhere. What a better way to spend it in bed, which I did wholeheartedly. One more day for myself before the start of the week begins.

Day 8: Love Story

This is the day my friend Ivy has been waiting for. I'm glad I was able to witness the promise she made to her now ex-boyfriend and vice versa. The wedding went according to plan, from flowers to music (she really wanted Enya's Only Time to be her wedding march) down to the smallest detail. Everything went smoothly if only my shoes would cooperate. As it turned out, it has a mind of its own.

Day 7: Book Collection Part 1

This is my second favorite spot in my room (my bed being the first). I was only able to shelf some of them. My book collection started when I was still in college. I also used to borrow some in this nook behind McDonald's in Katipunan. I would read one, then study, then read again. And I know this seems weird, but I love the smell of old books. A few of them were even from my dad's (but I still have to read some of them when I have time).

Day 6: Psalm at Work

Psalm, my student, always makes a habit of reading books before she goes home. She's very eager and a good storyteller (if she can make a career out of it). I can listen to her read everyday. I find such pleasure knowing my students, if not all, loves reading books from Dr. Seuss, to Maurice Sendak, to Beverly Clearly, and even up to William Shakespeare.

Day 5: The Substitute

I'm craving for a latte. But since I'm at the hospital and can't leave, I guess an instant cup of joe will somehow cure my craving. Or two.

Day 4: Back to Work

My happy days are offically O-V-E-R. I have to go back to my real world. Apparently that's more work for me since it I have to check and record all my students' homework for 2 weeks. I have to think positive or else I will go nuts. My mantra should be..."I know I can, I know I can," just like what the Little Blue Engine said when he was climbing up the mountain.

Day 3: Always a Bridesmaid

Here comes the bridesmaid! I was able to get hold of this gown today. My friends Ivy and Archie are set to wed on January 8. After 10++ years of being together, they will finally tie the knot! They are one of the best couples I have ever seen and I wish them a blissful married life. Congratulations and best wishes!

Day 2: Ipod Touch

I carry this all the time. I appreciate the fact that I can use this to read my books.

Day 1: A New Decade

My only contribution to our New Year's eve celebration. As it is, I will try to learn how to cook this 2011.
